This fascinating book, recently acquired by Fogelson Library, traces the development of a painter's idea from its first inception to the finished painting. Currin comments on each of the forty pictures that are reproduced in the book.
"John Currin worked on the painting that became The Dogwood Thieves for six years. Starting with a photograph from a magazine advertisement, he altered the painting several dozen times until he was satisified with the composition. This publication is based on a lecture given by John Currin in August 2010 at the Acadia Summer Arts Program." [from the book, page 3]
