BLACK HISTORY MONTH

February is Black History Month.  At Fogelson Library we have three displays of books commemorating the month.

We have a table of literature and literature collections by African-American authors near the entrance.  You are welcome to check out these books or use them as suggestions for further reading.  There are many more books by these authors and others on the shelves.

Take a look at the selection of life stories on the desk between the stairs and the circulation desk.  These are just a few of the many biographies, autobiographies, and memoirs available in the Fogelson collection.

In the main level display case you will find some of the volumes about African-American history.  Much more is available in the regular collection and among the Reference books as well as the periodicals collection.  Ask a staff member for more information or to borrow a book from the display case.

This is the cover of the April 12, 1968 issue of Life magazine,
published eight days after Dr.King's assassination. The periodicals section is filled with primary source materials such as this magazine.
