Santa Fe University of Art and Design Launches commUNITY focus day


Volunteer service day to connect new students with local community

Santa Fe, N.M.—August 2, 2011—Santa Fe University of Art and Design will host its first annual commUNITY focus day on Friday, Aug. 26, 2011. This initiative will connect students with local nonprofit organizations and promote a day of community service. After a morning of volunteer work with local organizations, the university will open the campus to the Santa Fe community for an afternoon of fundraising activities to benefit local nonprofit organizations, including Food Depot, United Blood Service, St. Michael’s High School, MADD and the Salvation Army.  The event includes clothing and food drives, raffles, community day art projects, a barbecue and free concerts.
